Reactive base resin
A base resin for formulators
A reactive intermediate rather than a topcoat. It carries reactive Si–H and N–H groups and can be built into epoxy, isocyanate, phenolic or silicone systems to add ceramic character, water repellency and heat resistance. It is the grade for a formulator, not for a finisher.
Grades in this series
| Grade | Viscosity | Pencil hardness | Contact angle | Heat resistance | Ceramizable |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SF-CB006 | 25–45 cSt @ 25 °C | 5B–3B (soft by design) | 102–105° | < 500 °C continuous in air | Not stated |
All figures measured on 304 stainless steel, spin-coated to a 4 µm film and air dried.
How to choose inside this series
If you are formulating, start here; if you are coating a part, start with the room-temperature or heat-cured series.
Looking for something else
Room-temperature fast cure
Cures on the part, at room temperature
Room-temperature slow cure
Longer open time, denser film
Heat-cured
Topcoat and precursor, cured in the oven
Multi-cure
Four cure routes, one bottle
Siloxane-modified
Soft, releasing, flexible
Fluoro-modified
Low surface energy, anti-fingerprint
Boron-modified
Very high temperature, self-healing
