Release for cookware and appliances
The situation
Pans, trays, grills, small appliance surfaces and bakeware where food release and easy cleaning matter, and where the coating has to survive washing rather than a laboratory cycle.
What fails today
- Fluoropolymer non-stick fails when the tool scratches through to the metal.
- Silicone release coatings smoke and yellow above their limit.
- Films that pass a new-pan test fail after a hundred washes.
Grades for this duty
How to apply it
Clean and blast the metal; a polished surface holds a thinner film than a blasted one.
Cure in an oven as the grade requires, then cool slowly.
Warn the end user about metal utensils: no coating survives a knife.
How to qualify it
- Abrasion cycles with a defined abrasive, then a release test: a non-stick surface is judged after use, not when new.
- Adhesion and thermal cycling between the service temperature and cold water.
- Food-contact compliance is the customer's declaration, not ours: the grade has to be qualified in the final article.
Bring your substrate and your target; we quote a grade and a cure schedule against it.
